What to Serve at an Apartment Super Bowl Party

Super Bowl Sunday is fast-approaching. If you’re planning to host a party in your apartment, it’s important to get your menu in order. Here are some food and drink ideas that will keep guests coming back for more during the NFL’s biggest game of the year.

Super Bowl Food Ideas for Apartment Parties

Sheet Pan Nachos

Ingredients:

  • Ground beef, 12 ounces
  • Cumin, chili powder, salt and black pepper, ½ teaspoon each
  • Pinto beans, 15-ounce can
  • Shredded cheese, 3 cups
  • Jalapeno slices, ¼ cup
  • Cilantro, ¼ cup
  • Jarred salsa, 1 cup

Recipe:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet, adding cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Leave it over medium heat for about 8 minutes, stirring often, before transferring it to a paper-towel-lined plate. Line a sheet pan with foil and add tortilla chips. Lay the drained pinto beans, ground beef and shredded cheese on top of the chips. Bake for about eight minutes, then add jalapeno, cilantro, salsa and other preferred toppings.

Meatball Subs

Ingredients:

  • Frozen meatballs
  • Hoagie rolls
  • Marinara sauce, ½ cup
  • Mozzarella or provolone, 1 cup
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic powder, dried oregano, dried basil, salt and pepper

Recipe:

Cook the meatballs according to the package instructions and preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Lay your hoagie buns face up on a sheet pan, drizzle a layer of olive oil and lightly sprinkle garlic powder, oregano, basil and salt and pepper. Bake for five minutes. Add a tablespoon of marinara sauce to the bottom bun and top with parmesan cheese before placing the meatballs. Top each sandwich with slices of mozzarella or provolone cheese and bake again for three minutes.

Potato Skins

Ingredients:

  • Russet potatoes, 2 ½ pounds
  • Butter, 2 tablespoons
  • Grated cheddar cheese, 1 ½ cups
  • Bacon, 8 slices cooked and chopped
  • Sour cream, ½ cup
  • Sliced green onion
  • Canola oil

Recipe:

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, wash your potatoes and coat the skin with canola oil. Bake for 30 minutes, then let them cool for 10 minutes. Slice them in half and remove the insides, leaving a layer to cover the skin. Coat the potatoes with melted butter and salt and put them in the oven face down for eight minutes. Once you’ve removed them, layer shredded cheddar and chopped bacon before returning to the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese. Once finished, top with sour cream and chives.

Taco Dip

Ingredients:

  • Cream cheese, 16 ounces, softened
  • Sour cream, 1 ¾ cups
  • Taco seasoning, 1 ounce packet
  • Chopped jalapenos, ¼ cup
  • Lime zest, 1 teaspoon
  • Lime juice, 1 teaspoon
  • Romaine lettuce, 2 cups, shredded
  • Shredded Mexican cheese, 1 cup
  • Tomato, 1 cup, chopped
  • Black olives, ¼ cup
  • Red onion, ¼ cup
  • Tortilla chips

Recipe:

Blend the cream cheese until smooth, then add sour cream, jalapenos, taco seasoning and lime juice and zest. Place in a serving dish, then layer lettuce, cheese, onion, tomato and other desired toppings. Serve with tortilla chips.

Super Bowl Drink Ideas

Vodka Party Punch

Ingredients:

  • Frozen lemonade concentrate, 6 ounces
  • Frozen fruit punch concentrate, 6 ounces
  • Vodka, 1 cup
  • Light rum, ½ cup
  • Club soda, 33 ounces
  • Fruit slices to garnish

Recipe:

Thaw the lemonade and fruit punch concentrate before combining all liquid ingredients in a pitcher. Top with lemon, orange or other fruit to garnish. Serve over ice.

Beermosas

Ingredients:

  • Belgian-style or wheat beer, 6 ounces
  • Bottled or fresh-squeezed orange juice, 4 ounces
  • Orange slices

Recipe:

Pour orange juice over ice, then top with beer and garnish with orange slices. You can adjust the potency of this beverage and serve it with other juices.

Bloody Mary

Ingredients:

  • Tomato juice, 2 cups, chilled
  • Vodka, 1 cup, chilled
  • Fresh lemon juice, ¼ cup
  • Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons
  • Horseradish, 2 teaspoons
  • Tabasco sauce, ½ teaspoon
  • Celery salt, ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper, ½ teaspoon
  • Old Bay seasoning, celery stalk, olive, pickle, cocktail onion

Recipe:

Combine chilled tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, Tabasco sauce, celery salt and black pepper in a shaker without ice. Shake and strain into a small pitcher. Let the mixture sit for an hour for the best flavor. Drizzle lemon juice on the rim of a glass and cover with Old Bay seasoning. Combine a half cup of Bloody Mary mix and two ounces of vodka in the glass and top with desired garnishes.

Boozy Root Beer Floats

Ingredients:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Rum or vanilla vodka, 1 ½ ounces
  • Root beer, 8 ounces

Recipe:

Add a few scoops of vanilla ice cream to a glass and add vodka or rum. Slowly pour the root beer over the mixture.
